At the hearing on 4/20, Judge Warren Clark noted that Councilman Gregory C. Hoffman is alleged to have violated Municipal Ordinance 101-34, barring the placement of signs on public property in the Borough of Park Ridge. Judge Clark said he found it interesting that such an allegation had been made, which suggests that he may very well take into account such an alleged violation of law by Councilman Hoffman in his disposition of the Criminal Mischief case against Lori Fredrics. After all, if Councilman Hoffman had not broken the law, as alleged, by illegally placing signs on public property in the first place, the charges against Ms. Fredrics would never have been lodged. Ms. Fredrics' newly-appointed lawyer, Kathleen Redpath-Perez also appeared to suggest that additional motions would be filed, raising the possibility that the case might ultimately be dismissed. She further noted that the defense had not received full discovery in the matter, as required by law, and that she is awaiting that discovery from the Prosecutor, Gregory Irwin. The Judge indicated that the next hearing would be in approximately one month, sometime in late May, with a date TBA.
